John Kubiniec – National Quilting Instructor and Author
The Amherst Quilters Guild is pleased to announce John Kubiniec will be joining us for two days of Seminars and a special presentation at our June membership meeting. John Kubiniec is a resident of Rochester, N.Y. and has many accomplishments to his credit to date. John was a runner-up in the 2010 McCall’s Design Start Competition, being one of the eight finalists out of a field of 174.
His quilt patterns have appeared in McCall’s Quilting, McCall’s Quick Quilts, The Fat Quarterly and Fons & Porter Easy Quilts. An accomplished designer, Mr. Kubiniec has created patterns for Windham Fabrics, Marcus Fabrics and RJR Fabrics.
John was one of the panelists at the American Folk Art Museum’s program, Quiltmakers: Real Men Quilt in June of 2011 and his HQ Story was chosen to be part of Handi Quilter’s 2012 Ad Campaign.
He was profiled in the Summer 2012 issue of Les Nouvelles – Patchwork et Création Textile, the journal of the French Patchwork Association.
John is one of the 2015 Aurifil Designers and a BERNINA Ambassador serving as a tester in the development of the BERNINA Q24 and Q20 Longarms. John is an accomplished author releasing a book of his own quilting designs published by C&T Publications 2016.
