World wide quilting day

Hello all, Mary Ellen here.
Today is the annual celebration of World Wide Quilting Day. Are you working on a quilty project?

Last weekend I had to do a deep cleaning of my spare bedroom for a possible overnight guest. In the process of digging down to the bed, I came upon a collection of 9 quilt blocks completed years back for a quilt-a-long on our blog. I’ve decided they need to be put together and finished up. (There were several other UFOs in the pile on the bed which will be coming up for completion over the next few months.) Today I’ve been “shopping” my stash trying to find something to use for sashing between these “tropical” blocks. I’m including photos below. Any suggestions? Maybe a solid or tone on tone would be better–but which color should I pull out? I don’t know that I have a good option here, so may have to actually go to a shop.

Did any of you make blocks from that quilt-a-long? (It was in 2012!) Here’s  link to the first blog post about it. If you want to take a look at the directions, use the blog search option key word loosey goosey. Click here.

Hi, As the back ground of the blocks is white, I would make them into a modern quilt with more white. Asymmetrical design or the nine patch on point with a lot of white around, maybe stretching the nine patch, so design looks more like a diamond on point .

I like the darker fabric. #1 I think it sets off the color in the blocks.
    Have fun!

If the colors are true, but I would use would be something in an olive green background. I think a lot of the stars have that particular shade And I think it would look outstanding. Good luck with your choices. It’ll be fun to see what you finally decide.
