helping Ukraine
March 4, 2022sunflowers for Ukraine part 2
March 8, 2022Hello all, Mary Ellen here.
If you’d like to make some sunflower blocks to remember Ukraine, here are some free patterns for relatively easy pieced blocks. Some are just photos, some include the steps.
Would anyone like to contribute some blocks to make a project that we could use to make money to donate to a charity helping Ukranians? I’m thinking that since Ukranian refugees are expected here in Buffalo, we could keep our donation close to home. Let me know in the comments below if you’d be interested, and we’ll get together to plan.

If you search for “free sunflower quilt blocks” you’ll find lots of options.

Great idea! An easy way to get involved. This could get me quilting again.
I would like to do something for the people in Ukraine. At this time it would be nice for our Guild to work as a group.
I hope lots of our members will participate–it could help to bring our group together.
I would contribute, Annette
ABSOLUTELY! YES!
What a wonderful idea for the guild to participate in. Could our guild newsletter be used to share this idea with the entire guild?
I think it’s a great idea
This sounds like a perfect way to help in some way. Thank you.
I would contribute. Aurifil has a wonderful pattern on their blog. They suggested blocks in blue and good the colors of Ukraine.
Great idea, count me in!
I would help also!
I would be glad to make some blocks – anything to help

Thank you Diana. That would be great. We will also be looking for volunteers to assemble the tabletoppers and/or quilt them and/or bind them. All sorts of help will be needed.
