Hello all, Mary Ellen here.
Let’s take care of business first. At last evening’s guild meeting the 2nd prize for blog commenting was awarded to Kathy Tomasulo. She won a coffee mug whose handles look like scissor handles–hard to describe. I should have taken a photo of it so I could show you. Perhaps if Kathy see this, she’ll send me a photo (or put one in her comment) which I’ll share with you. Starting with this post will be the collection of names for our next drawing in April.
Also several members told me that they receive 3 notifications for each time I post an entry. That is being addressed with the provider of our blog services. I hope that will be solved soon-I know how annoying it is to have your mail clogged with repetitive posts. If you would like to get e-mail notifications when something new is posted, you must sign up for that on the opening page.
This morning I came across this posting about a lady in Greece, NY who has knit herself a suit from Wegman’s bags. Sounds a bit over the top to me, how about you? But when you see the photo it looks a bit like a nice wool tweed-not like a plastic bag tweed! See what you think-it brought a smile anyway. Perhaps it could be an inspiration for my use of all those selvages I have! Here’s the link.

Not something I’d wear but great hobby to keep someone busy!
OMG Mary Ellen, that Wegmans bag suit is absolutely fabulous. My grandmother used to make rugs out of plastic bags and shower curtains. She used bread bags a lot because we didn’t have the plastic bags like we do today. Of course the rugs were slippery as heck, LOL.
Interesting! Here’s another idea to use grocery bags to help the homeless:

That suit would sure make one a little warm, I would think.
I saw that coffee mug up close……so cute! Made me want to get my name in there for the next draw! As far as that “knitted suit”, I think I’ll pass, a nice pair of leggings are my go to.
No, thank you! Not warm enough for winter here…..
A very creative lady. Probably waterproof too!

Here’s another idea for those pesky shopping bags and this would help those in need.
